IN MEMORIAM
Zahari Ngah was a Malaysian who lived in London, UK. He trained as a child and adult psychotherapist at the Tavistock Clinic. He spent 40 years both working and teaching within the NHS. He sadly passed away in London on February 7, 2021.
Ang Wen Fang
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Ang Wen Fang is a clinical psychologist providing mental health care for refugee children and adults at an international NGO in Malaysia. She also has an independent practice where she focuses on unconscious understanding of trauma, grief, loss, and post trauma growth.
Bashir Bashardoost
COUNSELOR
Bashir Bashardoost is a registered counsellor with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia, and a senior lecturer at the Department of Psychology in HELP University, Malaysia. He works within the Psychoanalytic and Existential framework in psychotherapy. His professional interest revolves around trauma, grief, and loss. He is also interested in the understanding of mourning and melancholia.
Jyothsna Chandur
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Jyothsna Chandur is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Bangalore, India. She works with individuals with a history of trauma and abuse. Her approach is primarily guided by attachment theory and object relations perspective. Her other interests are in the areas of religion, culture and their impact on the development of individual identities.
Chester Chong
PSYCHIATRIST
Chester Chong is a senior lecturer at University Putra Malaysia, Department of Psychiatry. He has developed personal interest in the learning and practice of psychoanalysis. He views this explorative therapeutic process as an important way to help people in understanding themselves. He also believes that psychoanalysis can lead to a resolution of problems and difficulties that we all face in our lives, both past and present.
Tomasz Fortuna
PSYCHOANALYST
Tomasz Fortuna trained as a psychoanalyst at the Institute of Psychoanalysis in London. He is a member of the British Psychoanalytical Society (IPA) and Hanna Segal Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Department of Psychiatry of Universiti Putra Malaysia. He has worked as a psychiatrist in the NHS for over 15 years and currently, he works at the Portman Clinic with adults, children and adolescents and is in private psychoanalytic practice. He teaches and supervises at the Tavistock Clinic, Institute of Psychoanalysis, and abroad. His professional interests include the relationship between psychoanalysis and the arts, understanding of severe emotional disturbance, and criminal behavior.
Fung Ko
PSYCHOANALYTIC RESEARCHER
Fung Ko holds a PhD in Psychoanalytic Studies from the University of Essex. Her psychoanalytic research focused on Winnicott's concept of 'transitional object' to give understanding to tobacco addiction. Her book, A Psychoanalytic Approach to Smoking Cessation: The Cigarette as a Transitional Object, will be published in November of 2023. She lives in Hong Kong, working as a marketing strategist.
Goh Lei Kheng
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Goh Lei Kheng is an international member of the Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology, Division 39 of the American Psychological Association. She worked in the psychiatric department of University Malaya Medical Center, in Kuala Lumpur for five years and is now in private practice providing psychotherapy for adults. Her professional interest includes psychoanalytic perspectives on the personal meanings of language that are expressed in psychotherapy. She also focuses on the clinical application of psychoanalytic thinking when addressing relational trauma.
Robert Hinshelwood

Bob Hinshelwood is a fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society and Emeritus Professor of the University of Essex, UK. He has written widely on Kleinian psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic research into subjectivity, and on unconscious aspects of organizations and institutions.
Shabnam K Kumar
COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST
Shabnam K Kumar, a Counseling Psychologist for more than a decade, is based in Bangalore, India. Her clientele includes individual adults, couples and adolescents. She is informed in Integral Somatic Psychology (a body-psyche approach) and Queer Affirmative Practice. She has been interested in the area of social diversity, psychosocial disabilities and, societal structures.
Tanita Parameswaran
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Tanita Parameswaran is a clinical psychologist attached to the United Nations High Commission of Refugees (UNHCR). She works with staff with a focus on vicarious trauma, post-traumatic stress, critical incidents and other personal and family related issues. She has practiced in variety of settings including the paediatric psychiatry unit in a hospital, an addictions treatment center for substance and process addictions and lastly in a private practice with additional experience in working with adult refugees. She is also interested in psychoanalytic thinking and understanding the development of personalities and the impact of psychological trauma on the psyche.
Evone Phoo
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Evone Phoo trained as a clinical psychologist and is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Psychology in HELP University, Malaysia. She mainly works with adults in psychotherapy, within the Psychoanalytic and Existential framework. Her professional interest lies in the understanding of grief, loss, and trauma. She also finds interest in the study of death and meaning.
Cheryl Tham Sin Yi
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Cheryl Tham is a clinical psychologist and psychology lecturer based in Malaysia. She is currently a faculty member at the International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur. Her professional interests include the understanding of intergenerational trauma, identity formation and personality disorders from a psychoanalytic perspective. She is also interested in cultural and transcultural aspects of psychoanalysis.
Arun Vangili

Arun Vangili is a psychiatrist in private practice in the southern Indian city of Coimbatore. He practices psychodynamic psychotherapy. His professional interests are in understanding unusual beliefs and fantasies through the psychoanalytic lens. His other interests are in philosophy, history, and creative writing.
